Who can participate:
All parents and caregivers with children ages birth-5 years old in the Charlottesville, Albemarle, and surrounding areas are invited to attend. Older siblings are welcome to join us, too!
We offer weekly groups in the neighborhoods of Greenstone on 5th, Southwood, Friendship Court, Greer Elementary, and Parks Edge. Choose the playgroup that best meets your needs!
What to expect:
ReadySteps Educators facilitate a parent support and early learning program, centered around routines and building community.
Our groups are play-based, and include activities similar to those you would see in a preschool classroom, including music, art, imaginative play, literacy and math.
Parents and caregivers are active participants in our program, and together we provide kids with experiences designed to promote healthy development.
Family Coordination is provided to all enrolled families, and includes developmental screening and home visit sessions. In collaboration with our community partners, we offer regular caregiver support groups with a trained therapist, children’s books to add to your home library, field trips, and activities outside of regular playgroup sessions.
This program is free of charge. Use our referral/interest form, and our Family Coordinator will contact you!
Enroll in our program at any time by coming to a playgroup! You will complete enrollment at your first playgroup. Parent and caregiver participation is required, and we encourage families to attend regularly, ensuring their children get the most out of the experience.
