Resources for youth and caregivers of youth who have or are considering running away from home. Open 24/7. By calling 1-800-RUNAWAY or 1-800-786-2929, you will immediately share your story with a compassionate person and build a plan together.
Side by Side (formerly ROSMY) is dedicated to creating supportive communities where Virginia’s LGBTQ+ youth can define themselves, belong, and flourish. They hold support groups in Charlottesville for middle school and high school students at the Teen and Young Adult Health Center. Youth Support Line: 1- 888-644-4390
The Teen and Young Adult Health Center is a primary care center for teenagers and young adults ages 12-24. Their team is specially trained to work with adolescents and help young adults with the unique challenges they face. They also have a social worker who can provide individual counseling and a community educator who works with parents and students in local schools, churches and health agencies.
